Wichita Forever Fest

Branding, Illustration, Print & Digital, Motion Graphics, Art Direction

On August 22nd, 2026, a group of creatives in Wichita, Kansas hosted the inaugural Wichita Forever Fest— a one-day festival that was free to the public and featured over 100 local musicians. I served as the brand design manager, responsible for creating the visual identity from the ground up and working with a team of talented volunteers to deliver comprehensive visual assets across all digital and physical channels.

The primary brand mark consists of a simple, stenciled wordmark wrapped in an infinity sign, reflecting the hand-made, DIY ethos of the fest while being versatile enough to hold the diverse range of artists participating in it.

Typography

The typography for Wichita Forever Fest is deliberately unsubtle, again reflecting its DIY ethos while making sure it can’t be missed.

Colors

The warm color palette was inspired by marigolds and dandelions, a long standing symbol of grass roots and DIY counterculture movements.

Meet Tobi!

Tobi the Troll was developed as a mascot for the fest. Inspired by the iconic Wichita Troll statue by local sculptor Connie Ernatt, Tobi represents Wichita’s underground arts community, in all its forms.
